Camp Ocean reopens aboard Carnival cruise ships

With COVID-19 vaccines now approved for ages 5 to 11, Carnival Cruise Line is pleased to welcome young cruisers on board with the reopening of its popular Camp Ocean facilities. The supervised program is now available for young guests who are fully immunized.
The Ocean Camp reopens
Carnival Cruise Line reopened Ocean Camp for the first time on December 10, once again welcoming young guests to special activities, fun and entertainment for ages 5 to 11 on its fleet of Fun Ships.
While young passengers were allowed to sail with vaccine exemptions from Carnival’s first ship, Carnival Vista, returned to service from Galveston on July 3, 2021, Camp Ocean was not available.
This decision was made due to the high possibility of disease transmission for youth group activities, but with the vaccines now available, Carnival is happy to offer the program again.
Camp Ocean is Carnival’s onboard program for young cruisers, offering supervised activities such as games, craft projects, team sports, music, trivia and more in a colorful and tailored facility. to children. Experienced childcare and education counselors oversee all activities, which are then broken down into age groups to help the kids meet new Fun Ship friends.
While the program is normally available to cruise passengers as young as 2 years old, at this time only fully vaccinated passengers aged 5 to 11 can participate. Certain activities are also likely to be adapted to comply with on-board health protocols.
Camp Ocean Health Protocols
Just like all cruise ships have overhauled general onboard health and safety protocols, Camp Ocean now has new health protocols in place to ensure guest safety and a fun, healthy cruise vacation.
In addition to the vaccination requirement, face masks should be worn, capacity is limited to all activities, and physical distancing is encouraged.
Spaces at youth facilities will be deep cleaned twice a day, and a new one-parent-per-family drop-off and pick-up policy is in place to minimize crowds and take more account of social distancing. Customers are encouraged to use the Carnival HUB app to check the activities of the young people.
In accordance with cruise company protocols and based on recommendations from Carnival medical advisers, unvaccinated children will not be allowed to participate in Camp Ocean activities or other youth programs.
More activities for young cruisers
In addition to Camp Océan, Cercle âCâ and Club O2 have been and will continue to be open to vaccinated adolescents. Circle “C” provides a gathering space and activities for 12-14 year olds, while Club O2 is the on-board meeting place for 15-17 year olds. Each group offers age-appropriate activities and helps young cruisers make new friends.
All passengers participating in the youth activities – Camp Ocean, Circle “C” and Club O2 – must be fully immunized.
