Disney + Announces Series of New Star Originals |

Disney + has announced that more than 20 titles will be released exclusively as a Star Originals in UK and Ireland including Pam and Tommy, welcome to Wrexham, and Fleishman is in trouble. Additionally, The Kardashians Jenner the next series will air exclusively on Star on Disney + with a tentative debut later this year.
Star is the new generalist entertainment brand on Disney + that launched in the UK and Ireland in February, adding hundreds of TV series and movies alongside a Star Originals roster this year, including series Big sky and Doll face, and Oscar-winning film Nomadic country.
One of the biggest original series to come to Star is Only murders in the building (pictured), with Hollywood legends Steve Martin and Martin Short alongside Selena Gomez. The comedy centers around three strangers who share an obsession with real crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. The series will launch this fall and is produced by 20e Phoneevision, part of Disney Television Studios.
Meanwhile, Sick, takes viewers to the epicenter of America’s fight against opioid addiction, from Purdue Pharma boardrooms to a distressed mining community in Virginia to the halls of the DEA. This eight-episode series is produced by 20th Television, part of the Disney television studios.
Debuting in 2022 is Pam & Tommy, the next American biographical drama is the untold story of the world’s first viral video – the sex tape of Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee and actress Pamela Anderson played by Sebastian Stan and Lily James.
Additionally, Immigrant will premiere on Star on Disney + in 2022. The eight-episode limited series from 20th Television, part of Disney Television Studios, is the true story of Somen ‘Steve’ Banerjee (played by Kumail Nanjiani), the Indo-American entrepreneur who started Chippendales. 20th Television serves as the studio for the series.
Over the next 18 months, FX will strengthen the FX brand by increasing its production to a list of 30 shows per year, 25 scripted and 5 unscripted which will all be available on Star on Disney +.
Titles previously unveiled on Disney Investor Day; American Horror Stories, Reserve Dogs, Y: The Last Man, and an Untitled BJ Novak project will be launched on Star on Disney + later in 2021. The new series announced by FX include the Welcome to Wrexham and Choe’s show.
Welcome to Wrexham is a docuseries retracing the dreams and people of Wrexham, a working-class town in North Wales, UK, as two Hollywood stars (Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds) take possession of the football club historic but in difficulty of the city. The ten-part series will launch within the next twelve months. Choe’s show is a new interview show where artist David Choe paints a portrait – literally and figuratively – of his guests. The four-episode docuseries will be available to stream on Star on Disney + in 2021.
Two new docuseries will also arrive on Star in 2022 from FX: Dear Mom, about the volatile life and legacy of the late hip-hop icon and poet Tupac Shakur, and the Black Panther member mother who raised him, and Gun, based on the 2018 memoir of legendary Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones, Lonely Boy: Tales of a Sex Gun, which presents a new perspective on one of rock’s greatest stories.
Based on the New York Times bestselling novel by Taffy Brodesser-Akner (which will also fit for the series), Fleishman is in trouble will offer a modern take on life, love and commitment and will also debut in 2022, with dates to be confirmed.

The big jump, of 20e Televisionon and Fox Entertainment, is a rowdy-comedy-drama that follows a diverse and unlucky group of characters who attempt to turn their lives around by taking part in a potentially ruinous reality dance show.
Maggie, based on the short film by Tim Curcio, follows a young woman trying to cope with life as a medium. The series is 20e Youlevision, part of Disney Television Studios.
Queens follows four women in their 40s who come together for a chance to regain their glory and their boastfulness they had as “Nasty Bitches,” their ’90s band that made them legends around the world hip-hop. The series is from ABC Signature, part of Disney Television Studios.
Our kind of people from 20eTVvision and Fox Entertainment is inspired by the critically acclaimed book by Lawrence Otis Graham. The drama series is set in the ambitious world of Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard, a historic stronghold where the rich and powerful black elite have come to play for over 50 years.
Finally, blahm 20e Television, part of Disney Television Studios comes a reboot of The good years, a coming-of-age story set in the late 1960s that takes a nostalgic look at a middle-class black family in Montgomery, Alabama, through the eyes of an imaginative, aged Dean 12 years.
From National Geographic, the following comeback series will launch on Disney + over the next twelve months after their linear beginnings:
Gordon Ramsay will seek that moment of happiness in Gordon Ramsay: Unexplored; fierce investigators like Mariana van Zeller challenge the world we know in Traffic with Mariana Van Zeller; Bear Grylls will lead famous guests to moments of pure enlightenment in Running in the wild with Bear Grylls; and Nasty tuna follows a group of salty commercial fishermen from the country’s oldest seaport in Gloucester, Massachusetts, as they make a living from rod and reel fishing in pursuit of the precious bluefin tuna.
