The proprietor of the tug and barge completes the fee for injury to the port bridge
Deonarine Sookram, proprietor of the tug and barge that crashed into the Demerara Harbor Bridge Company in December final 12 months inflicting injury, has settled his debt to the bridge firm for repairs.
A press release launched Wednesday by the Demerara Harbor Bridge Company (DHBC) stated the proprietor had paid the excellent stability. A complete of $ 16.3 million was paid to DHBC for damages. In February, this newspaper reported that 20% of the associated fee was paid on the bridge when a fee settlement was signed.
The settlement was signed between Demerara Harbor Bridge Company and Sookram with a fee plan that required Sookram to make an upfront fee on signing and the stability in quarterly installments till full fee.
